The vital difference between brand and branding

Our Business Director Giles, was recently interviewed on the podcast ‘Excellence Expected’ to explain the difference between brand and branding, and why it can make or break small businesses.
As Giles explains, ‘brand' is often misunderstood or misinterpreted and therefore its full impact on a business can be overlooked or downgraded. ‘Brand’ is what drives a business and defines its difference and its reputation. ‘Branding’ is the application of visual assets (i.e. Logos) to communications. Putting a brand strategy in place will help to: attract and retain talent, aid strategic decision making, define product/service positioning and price-point, protect businesses during harder periods and drive it forward in times of opportunity – ultimately defining the value of the business.
