A fundraising summer

October 2013

This summer has been a very busy one for fundraising, with a number of staff challenging themselves to a whole range of activities – from obstacle courses to cross-channel cycling – all in the name of charity.

Over £30,000 in total was raised and donated to five fantastic charities – Macmillan Cancer Support, Alzheimer’s Society, Help for Heroes, Diabetes UK and The Royal British Legion. Well done to everyone who trained and worked so hard to achieve such a great result.

Fundraising
£3.4K raised

Team Run & Roll raised just under £3.4K for Macmillan Cancer Support – simply amazing!

Team Run & Roll (Matt P, Alex, Becky, Amie, Faye, Anna, Paul, Lee and Harry) consumed 29,500 calories and covered a hefty 420 miles in their journey to Lubstock Festival in Leicestershire. Raising £3,385.63 for Macmillan Cancer Support and Help for Heroes.

Project Managers Lynsey and Maddie’s little legs helped them complete their biggest sporting challenge yet – the Great North Run.  Raising a whopping £1,500 collectively for Diabetes Uk and The Alzheimer's Society.

Pete Davies and friends conquered ‘Paris or Bust’ for the Alzheimer’s Society. The group raised a fantastic £24,597 in sponsorship for their former teacher, who sadly suffers from dementia.

Maddie also organised a Macmillan Coffee morning in our very own kitchen. Since our recent fundraising over the summer months had been focused on ‘self discipline and lots of horrid exercise’, she felt we should take part in something that involved eating cake. And lots of it. We raised over £200 for Macmillan.

Other events this year included Faye running the The Royal Parks Half Marathon for The Alzheimer's Society, Alex completing Tough Mudder for Help for Heroes, and keen fundraiser Ross raising £800 for The Royal British Legion with a number of challenges (Tough Mudder, the Ride London 100 and London to Paris cycling events!). Phew. We feel tired just thinking about it!
